Active Imagination: A Practice for Accessing Inner Guidance

Estimated Time (including activities): 50 minutes

This video guides you through a Jungian practice called active imagination—a way of entering into a dialogue with the unconscious and listening for what it’s showing you.

This work isn’t about analyzing or trying to get the “right” answer.
It’s about developing a relationship with the unconscious—one that unfolds over time through attention, curiosity, and reflection.

You can return to this practice whenever something is asking for your attention, or when you feel a pull toward something you don’t yet fully understand.

What You’ll Need:

  • A journal or notebook

  • Simple art materials (paper, pens, colored pencils, or paints) for the integration step (Optional).

  • A quiet space where you won’t be interrupted.

  • You’ll need to pause the video at different points to reflect and write.
