Art Coaching Services

I have a Master’s degree in Art History, taught at the college level for 19 years, and dedicated nearly a decade to running a non-profit art space in Oakland.

Supporting artists has always been a passion of mine, and I bring a deep understanding of the art world and the challenges artists face in building sustainable careers.

  • Cultivating an Empowered Mindset – Supporting you in staying aligned with your big-picture vision and recognizing inner blocks, so you don’t get stuck in self-doubt and overwhelm.

  • Thinking Creatively – Exploring strategies for financial sustainability and building systems that support balance and well-being.

  • Developing concrete career plans – Creating an actionable 2-year plan to move your career forward with clarity and purpose.

  • Articulating your artist statement – Crafting an authentic, compelling statement that truly reflects your vision and practice.

  • Portfolio and website development – Helping you curate and present your work effectively online and in applications.

  • Marketing materials – Guidance on crafting bios, CVs, and promotional content to showcase your work professionally.

  • Securing grants, residencies, and exhibitions – Providing strategic guidance to help you identify and successfully apply for opportunities that align with your goals.

As your Art Coach, here are some of the things I can support you with:

Artists I’ve worked with have received major residencies and significant grants, including the Pollock Krasner, as well as secured gallery representation.

I am currently offering a special rate for artists at just $1200 for 6 sessions.

This includes review and editing feedback in between sessions.

I have limited spaces at this rate, so if you're interested, book a free discovery call to see if it’s the right fit for you.

“Suzanne truly helped me unearth a new optimism. I now have a clear idea of what I want my future to look like and I can’t thank her enough.”

“If it weren’t for Suzanne believing in me, I wouldn’t be where I am in my career right now, so I am so grateful to have met and worked with her and to call her my coach.”

“The artist is not a person endowed with free will who seeks his own ends, but one who allows art to realize its purpose through him.”

- Carl Jung
